Archery GB is seeking the views of all members to help us review the structures in our sport.
Over the last two decades, there has been a great deal of change at Archery GB, and more broadly in the sport of archery.
These changes have led to several opportunities and challenges for leadership, volunteers, membership, and others across the archery landscape.
Change is not always an easy process but we believe this structure review project gives us the chance to meet the future needs of the sport.
We want to engage with people across the archery community, listening carefully to their views, and acting to ensure the sport’s future success.
Progress to date
Since April 2021, we have been bringing together documents connected to the structure of Archery GB and other relevant entities.
We have also conducted:
- 4 focus groups
- 8 individual sessions with staff and volunteers across all home nations
- Recruited and formed a Structure Review Working Group
This has resulted in nearly 20 hours of conversation and over 30 documents about the structure of archery (and other relevant sport examples) giving us a fantastic base of knowledge to work with.
From this initial data and analysis, we have written, tested and revised the project brief.
This will be used as the basis for the next steps in this project.
The language and detail in the project brief is designed to outline the structure review in plain terms and answer a series of questions about our goals and how we will measure success.
We have further revised the project brief to act on feedback around the term ‘governance’ and to ensure that this is not over-used and that the language is accessible.
Webinar on progress
We have recorded a webinar to update members on the progress and to present key emerging findings, to test current thinking and to seek feedback.
This webinar can be viewed here
How to share your views
It is a priority to give members the opportunity to contribute to this review.
We are therefore asking all members to answer a series of questions designed to gather a wide range of views and experiences.
Please be as open and honest as you can.
You can access the evidence portal here or alternatively you can email us to give us your views.
How will we share project updates?
We will meet with regions and home nations, communicate to the county associations and areas, feedback to the working groups and update the Archery GB board.
The outcome of the project will also be discussed at the Archery GB AGM in 2022.
Please download the document on this page for further information about the project including the background to the structure review.
